Airports

Airports

  • Mexico's new National Infrastructure Programme (NIP) 2014-2018, includes a number of modernisation and expansion projects in airports which are part of a £65 billion investment to develop transport infrastructure throughout the country.
  • Not included in the NIP, an initiative to build a new airport in Mexico City - a project worth a $5 billion USD investment - is currently under study and expected to be announced shortly.
  • According to the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index, airports infrastructure in Mexico ranks 64th out of 144 countries.
  • Mexico's airports network is made up of 76 airports, 17 of which handle 88% of passenger traffic and 98% of air cargo. Mexico also has the largest private aircraft fleet in Latin America.
  • Over the past decade, Mexico's investment in infrastructure grew from 3% to nearly 5% of its GDP.

  • Leading art platforms such as the Affordable Art Fair, Design Week Mexico, Gallery Weekend Mexico, Kurimanzutto Gallery (ranked Top 20 worldwide, according to Flash Art Magazine) offer the best art and design shows in Latin America.
  • Mexico is the top Creative Economy in Latin America (source UNCTAD).
  • According to ProMexico, Mexico's trade agency, the creative industries rank 5th amongst the country's strategic sectors with Design the most important component, accounting for 73% of the industry.
  • Mexico's National Council for Culture and the Arts (Conaculta) registered 1,168 museums in 2012, compared to 2007, due to increase in the development of the arts sector promotion.


Music

Music

  • In 2012, the Mexican music industry recorded an income of £132 million GBP.
  • The music market showed a growth of 8.4% throughout 2012.
  • In 2013, Mexico's music income was made up of 51% in physical sales and 47% in digital with the rest covered by sync and performance royalties.
  • Over 46% of digital music income came through singles while 18% came from full albums and 18% from streaming.

This fee covers your participation in the core programme including a market briefing, attendance at a VIP Reception, attendance at sector specific events and networking opportunities. 

Airports Participation fee: £450 (+VAT)
This fee covers your participation in the core programme including a market briefing, attendance at a VIP Reception, attendance at sector specific events and networking opportunities.

Mexico MAP Grant for SMEs: £650
UK SMEs can benefit from a MAP (Market Access Programme) grant. An SME has fewer than 250 employees and either has an annual turnover not exceeding €50m or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding €47m.
